Acting Director-General Visits Paga Port Health Unit to Strengthen Meningitis Preparedness

During his recent visit to the Upper East Region for meningitis preparedness, the Acting Director-General, Prof. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, toured the Paga Port Health Unit. The visit included an engaging session with the unit's staff and a meeting with the Head of the Unit, Madam Flora Apam, who provided a comprehensive overview of their daily operations. Prof. Kaba commended the team for their commitment and diligence in carrying out their duties.
The visit also featured a tour of the port health laboratory, highlighting the vital role the unit plays in monitoring public health at this key border point between Ghana and Burkina Faso. As a critical entry point, the Paga Port Health Unit plays an essential role in safeguarding public health by managing and preventing the spread of diseases.
