Tamale, Ghana – On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) officially handed over 40 modified tricycle ambulances and 11 health commodity delivery vans to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) in a significant move to enhance healthcare delivery in northern Ghana. The donation, aimed at improving Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS), was made during a ceremony in Tamale.

The Ministry of Health, alongside the Ghana National Ambulance Service, supported the initiative, which is expected to significantly bolster emergency medical transport and the delivery of essential health commodities to remote areas. The newly donated vehicles are a crucial step in addressing healthcare access challenges in the northern regions, improving both emergency response times and service delivery at the community level.

This gesture marks a continued partnership between Catholic Relief Services and the Ghana Health Service in improving the health and well-being of community members across the country.
