Breast cancer remains one of the most treatable forms of cancer—when detected early. However, in Ghana, late diagnosis continues to be a major challenge as many women delay seeking medical care due to fear, stigma, and a lack of awareness.

In a bid to change this narrative, the Ghana Health Service, in collaboration with Jhpiego and other partners, organized a workshop this week aimed at developing culturally sensitive and impactful awareness messages. The goal is to better educate the public on the importance of early detection and to break down the social barriers that prevent timely care.

Health officials say these tailored messages will play a crucial role in informing communities, empowering women, and ultimately saving lives.
