Ghana Health Service Announces Major Reshuffle

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced a significant reshuffling of its Regional Health Directors, effective April 14, 2025. This strategic move aims to enhance healthcare delivery and align leadership with evolving public health priorities.
Dr. Samuel Kwabena Boakye-Boateng, previously the Regional Director of Health Services for the Upper East Region, has been appointed as the Director of the Policy, Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Division (PPMED) at GHS headquarters. Dr. Alberta Adjebeng Biritwum-Nyarko transitions from PPMED to become the Regional Director of Health Services for the Central Region. Other notable appointments include Dr. Kennedy T.C. Brightson as Acting Director of Family Health, and Dr. Abdulai Abukari as Director of Special Duties, both at GHS headquarters .
These changes are part of GHS's efforts to strengthen the healthcare system and ensure the achievement of its objectives nationwide .
