The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has renewed its long-standing collaboration with the Koko Plus and Ajinomoto Foundations of Japan, marking a continued commitment to improving child nutrition and combating malnutrition across Ghana. A new five-year Memorandum of Co-operation (MoC) was signed at a brief ceremony held at the GHS Headquarters in Accra.

The Japanese delegation was led by H.E. Hiroshi Yoshimoto, Ambassador of Japan, along with Mr. Kaoru Kurashima, President of the Ajinomoto Foundation; Mr. Yusuke Takahashi, Country Director of the Koko Plus Foundation; and Dr. Kennedy Bomfeh, Director of Projects & Research.

Since its inception in 2009, the partnership has played a crucial role in delivering targeted nutrition interventions for Ghanaian children. The renewed agreement is expected to bolster national nutrition programmes and reinforce the partnership as a model for sustainable global cooperation in public health.

Director-General of the GHS, Prof. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, expressed his appreciation for the continued support, voicing optimism that through sustained collaboration, malnutrition in Ghana could soon be eradicated.
