GHS Performance Review Closes with Renewed Push for Innovation and Accountability

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) Headquarters has wrapped up a two-day performance review session, focused on assessing progress and charting a path toward enhanced service delivery.
The session, which brought together key leadership and department heads, culminated in a strong call from the Director-General, Prof. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, for greater innovation and accountability across all levels of the organization.
In his closing address, Prof. Akoriyea urged managers to take full responsibility for their decisions and outcomes, emphasizing that the era of complacency and ineffective routines must end. “We can no longer rely on outdated approaches. It’s time to adopt innovative solutions that address our persistent challenges,” he stated.
He also highlighted the need for stronger integration of departmental programmes and activities, aimed at boosting operational efficiency and maximizing impact.
Prof. Akoriyea called on staff to embrace a renewed attitude—one grounded in excellence, dedication, and a results-driven mindset.
The performance review provided a critical platform for reflection, allowing stakeholders to evaluate achievements, pinpoint gaps, and reinforce their collective commitment to improving health outcomes for all Ghanaians.
