The Qweby Foundation, with support from DH Industries, has recognized the outstanding dedication and patient-centered care provided by Dr. Abena Foriwaa Sarpong, Specialist Family Physician and Head of the Palliative Care Unit at the Korle Bu Polyclinic/Family Medicine Department.

In a heartfelt show of appreciation, the Foundation on Tuesday donated essential hygiene supplies to the unit, including five large-sized containers of powder soap, five boxes of liquid soap, and five boxes of Lido bleach. The donation was inspired by the compassionate care Dr. Sarpong extended to a patient under her supervision, leaving a lasting impact on the patient’s family.

Founder of the Qweby Foundation, Madam Aisha Ampadu Kyerewu, whose son received care at the facility, shared the motivation behind the gesture. “Truth be told, Dr. Abena has gone beyond the normal in providing care to my son since the very first day we stepped foot in this clinic. It’s been an unimaginable, refreshing, and delightful experience,” she remarked.

Madam Aisha praised the selflessness and professionalism of Dr. Sarpong, describing the experience as one that deeply moved her and her family, prompting her to give back in support of the unit’s critical work.

Dr. George Bediako Nketiah, Acting Head of Department, expressed gratitude to the Foundation and DH Industries for their timely support. He commended the gesture and pledged to strengthen the palliative care services to better serve the community.

Dr. Abena Foriwaa Sarpong, visibly moved by the recognition, extended her heartfelt thanks to the family and emphasized her continued commitment to delivering compassionate and high-quality healthcare to all patients.
