Sheba Medical Center Fosters Health Partnerships in Ghana with Expert Team Visit and Training Programs

A team of medical experts from Sheba Medical Center, Israel's leading healthcare institution, recently visited Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana, to foster medical education and collaboration. Led by Prof. Didi Fabian, the team included Dr. Iris Ben-Basat Mizrahi and Dr. Gahl Greenberg. Their visit focused on enhancing clinical knowledge and expertise through educational sessions, lectures, and hands-on training.
During their visit, the team delivered lectures to over 100 Ghanaian physicians, offering valuable insights into advanced medical practices. They also collaborated on clinical case management and conducted complex surgical procedures, further strengthening the medical capabilities of the host hospital.
In addition, the team provided critical neonatal resuscitation training (NRP) at three hospitals: Mother & Child Hospital, Nsawam Hospital, and the University of Ghana Medical Centre LTD (UGMC). This training aims to enhance the skills of healthcare workers in managing newborn emergencies.
This visit marks the beginning of a promising partnership between Sheba Medical Center and Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, with plans for future exchange programs and long-term collaboration. The initiative aligns with Sheba Global Ophthalmology’s mission to advance eye care across Africa and underscores the hospital’s commitment to improving healthcare standards worldwide.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving patient care and medical expertise, making a meaningful impact on healthcare in Ghana.
