The Upper West Regional Health Directorate, on Wednesday, 15th May 2025, held a one-day Regional Country Innovation Platform (CIP) Review Meeting in Wa to assess progress and foster collaboration among health innovators working to improve maternal and child health.

The meeting brought together five grant recipients supported by Grand Challenges Canada, each implementing innovative health projects across six regions—comprising the five northern regions and the Western Region.

Speaking on behalf of the Regional Director of Health Services, Mr. Prosper M. Lana, Deputy Director of Administration, welcomed participants and expressed gratitude to the national team, innovators, and stakeholders for their continued commitment to enhancing health service delivery in their respective operational areas.

The session featured detailed PowerPoint presentations by the innovators, highlighting project goals, implementation activities, pending tasks, timelines, and lessons learned. Presentations were followed by interactive discussions, where participants engaged in meaningful dialogue and provided feedback to help shape future interventions.

The meeting was also attended by the National CIP Team, led by Madam Winifred Addo-Cobbiah, who praised the innovators for their dedication and urged them to maintain the momentum in delivering impactful solutions for maternal and child health.

As part of the program, both National and Regional CIP teams conducted field visits to selected project sites in the Sissala West and DBI Districts to assess on-the-ground progress and gather further insights into implementation efforts.
